At YIA, we share space and power to co-create opportunities for youth-driven change within our communities. This includes advocacy, organizing, power-shifting or facilitating change. We prioritize and encourage exploration, joy, rest and healing. All of YIA’s programs are free for all youth participants.
We utilize a multi-year/phase-driven structure of programming: Core, Immersion, and Collective. Neither is mutually exclusive, and each works in tandem to foster a youth-designed and facilitated model of growth with intentional adult support. All youth can participate in our annual adventure learning retreats and programs.
Core
Core is where youth start their journey at YIA, creating space for self reflection, learning how to step into leadership, and gathering tools for movement building.
Immersion
Immersion is our second level of programming, where youth are “immersing” in practice by identifying and organizing around issues important to them and their communities.
Collective
Collective is our final level of programming, where youth step into their power as leaders and show commitment to creating lasting impact on their communities.
